We will meet at the Ellison Building at 9:15 and I will tell you where we will paint that day.
I will begin with an informative demonstration to help students see how to begin and finish a painting in one session with easy to understand instructions. I will work with you on an individual basis to help you improve at your own speed. The group will be small so there will be no crowding. This group will utilize the discipline of Academic Traditional Methods with the freedom of "Alla Prima" to help each person learn the fundamentals to create a painting that is structurally sound in color, composition and technique.

Oil Paint: Rembrandt paint - Yellow Ochre, Cadmium Red Medium, Cerulean Blue, Ivory Black and Titanium White
Brushes, canvas, easel, paper towels, odorless turpentine, mirror and maul stick
Charcoal: Strathmore 500 Series white or off white paper, Winsor Newton Charcoal in soft, medium and hard, fine sandpaper and a vessel to catch the powder in, a kneeded eraser, a mirror, a maul stick, a plumb line and an easel
For Alla Prima classes:
Oil Paint: Rembrandt paint - Cadmium Red Medium,, Winsor Newton Artist series -Cadmium Lemon Yellow,, French easel, paper towels (Bounty and Viva ), odorless turpentine and a mirror and anything else you may need to paint.
Classes will be cancelled due to weather when schools are cancelled.
Cancelled classes will be refunded or added to the following week.
For groups at Dianne's studio, I can only reserve your space with a check. Unless the group is cancelled, checks will only be returned if there is less than 5 people in the group because of the minimum needed to run the group. Missed sessions will not be refunded.

She is generous with both her praise and her critiques. She also has tremendous patience and tolerance, handling all types of personalities and experience levels with ease. Personally I feel that she has helped raise the level of my work by firmly challenging me when I may have been blind to problems or resistant to input. She has made me feel that there is nothing I can't paint....what a gift!
